In the beginning of 2008 she hit the number one spot on Billboard's Hot Dance Chart with the song Calabria, which went on to become a massive hit all over the world. Very much also in Jamaica. At the same time she was the most award winning singer that year in her homeland Denmark with a best-selling album in her native language. Ironically she didn't live to see all this. After fighting for her break-through for 17 years, her success had only just begun to bloom, when a driver crashed her car on the way from performing at a stage show in Jamaica. In the car with her was her longtime best friend Karen Mukupa who survived the accident.
